First Exhibition game underway

The men's basketball team's exhibition season began today against Marygrove at Rose Arena.

As expected, coach Ernie Zeigler started the following five:

PG Robbie Harman (6-foot1, 180 lb. Sr.)
SG Jordan Bitzer (6-foot-3, 195 lb. Sr.)
SF Antonio Weary (6-foot-3, 215 lb Jr.)
PF Chris Kellermann (6-foot-8, 245 lb. Sr.)
C Marko Spica (6-foot-9, 250-lb. Jr.)

The first newcomer to be subbed in the game was Jalin Thomas (6-foot-7, 200 lb. junior from Pensacola (Fla.) JC by way of Columbus, Ohio). He came in at small forward for Weary.

Freshman Finis Craddock (6-1, 180, Garland, Texas) came in for Bizter at shooting guard.

Senior center Brandon Ford (6-foot-11, 255 lb.) came in for Spica and has had some nice moves in the paint. It's apparent Zeigler trusts him a lot more than in recent years after Ford basically was forced into playing last season because of serious injuries to Spica (knee) and Kellermann (ankle).

Sidenotes: Freshman forward Tyler Brown looks almost identical as redshirt freshman Zach Saylor, who is out because of a lingering shoulder injury. Craddock looks like a smaller version of Jacolby Hardiman, who was dismissed in the offseason because of an arrest.

More to come as the game goes along.
